Homebrew Kitsune Species Details

Kitsune are foxlike spiritual beings. They are known for playing tricks and using illusion magic. They can shapeshift between their human, fox and original form. They possess the ability to shapeshift between a humanoid form, a fox form, and their true spiritual form. As a kitsune grows older and more powerful, additional tails begin to appear, up to a maximum of nine. A nine-tailed kitsune is often regarded as a wise and powerful leader within their colony.

Kitsune are often described as humanoids with fox ears and one or more tails. They resemble humans in height and general physical traits. Although they share many similarities with humans, their physiques differ in several important ways. Kitsune tend to have lighter, more agile bodies and possess exceptional flexibility. They also enjoy remarkably long lifespans, often living up to 1,000 years. Most kitsune civilizations maintain a deep spiritual connection to nature and the spirit world. Their tails show, how powerful a Kitsune is and in what rank they stand in their society.
