Homebrew 🐺 Artic Werewolf Species Details
Unlike regular werewolves, this specific lineage carries the Legacy of the White Frost. They are characterized by:
-
Draconic-Infused Fur: White, frost-coated fur that occasionally shimmers like dragon scales under the moonlight.
-
Piercing Dragon Eyes: Glowing cyan eyes with slitted pupils, a direct inheritance from their White Dragon grandfather.
-
Glacial Biology: Their internal temperature is sub-zero, allowing them to exhale icy mists and unleash a devastating freezing howl.
They are the bridge between two legendary predators—the relentless hunter and the ancient wyrm. To face one is to face the full, unyielding wrath of the tundra."
🐺 Artic Werewolf Traits
Arctic Werewolves are formidable lycanthropes born of the frozen wastes, carrying the ancient chill of the White Dragon within their veins. Their frostbound bodies and predatory instincts make them the ultimate hunters of the tundra—beings whose very breath is a blizzard and whose gaze holds the piercing cold of the eternal winter❄️ Frozen Blood
Your veins run with the essence of the tundra. You have resistance to cold damage, and you are naturally adapted to cold climates, as described in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
🐺 Lycan Form
As a Bonus Action, you can channel the dormant power of your ancestors and shift into a hybrid Arctic Werewolf form for 1 minute. During this transformation, your body surges with primal energy and draconic frost:
-
Dragon-Claw Strike: Your nails lengthen into serrated, icy talons. Your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 + Strength modifier Slashing damage.
-
Tundra Predator: Your muscles coil with lupine power, increasing your walking speed by 10 feet.
-
Ancient Senses: Your senses sharpen to an impossible degree. You have Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Survival checks that rely on smell or tracking.
-
Terrifying Presence: Your monstrous appearance and freezing aura make social interaction difficult. You have Disadvantage on Charisma checks (except Intimidation) while in this form.
-
Frigid Evolution (Unlocks at Lv 6): Your draconic blood hardens your fur. You gain +1 AC and any creature that hits you with a melee attack within 5ft takes 1d6 Cold damage.
You can use this transformation once per Short or Long Rest
🌨️ Snow Stalker
As a predator born in the storm, Cloud is able to move silently across the snow. His footsteps leave no visible footprints, and the cold of the ice is actually his ally in hunting.
🧊 Glacial Bite
When an arctic werewolf locks its jaws on an enemy, its extreme body temperature is instantly released. Ice begins to creep from the bite wound, freezing muscle tissue and restricting blood flow. This piercing cold is not only painful, but also causes their movements to become slow and stiff.
🐺 Lupine Sence
Artic Werewolf closed his eyes for a moment, letting his ears catch the distant crack of a twig and his nose pick out the thousands of scents in the air. 'Three enemies, two hundred meters to the north,' he said calmly. For him, hiding his presence from a wolf was impossible.
🐾 Pack Tactics
The Arctic werewolf never hunts alone. When it sees an opening opened by its companion, its pack instincts take over. With perfect coordination, it attacks its opponent's weak point while they are distracted by the rest of its pack.
🌬️ Frost Presence
he temperature around the Arctic Werewolf drops sharply in a 10-foot radius. Every breath emerges as a thick, swirling icy mist, and frost begins to creep across surfaces beneath their feet. This unnatural presence exerts a chilling pressure on the minds of those who meet their gaze, granting Advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks against creatures that can feel the cold
❄️ Frigid Plate
Your draconic blood begins to crystallize your physiology, bridging the gap between wolf and dragon. While transformed, your leathery hide is reinforced by patches of white hexagonal scales—shining like winter pearls—that erupt along your shoulders, forearms, and spine. Between these scales, jagged ice spikes emerge like crystalline thorns.
-
Reinforced Defense: These scales fill the gaps in your armor, granting a +1 bonus to your Armor Class (AC). This bonus stacks with any armor you are wearing.
-
Everfrost Spikes (Thorns): Any creature within 5 feet that hits you with a melee attack takes 1d6 Cold damage as the ice spikes shatter, releasing a burst of sub-zero energy.
-
Rapid Regrowth: These spikes are living extensions of your essence. When they shatter, they leave a trail of freezing mist that crystallizes almost instantly. Within seconds, new scales and spikes form in their place, ensuring your 'Armor of Frost' remains unbroken and aesthetically lethal throughout the hunt.*
"It's not just fur and muscle anymore. It's living, breathing permafrost that mends itself as fast as it breaks
🧊 Dragon-Blood Howl
The White Dragon blood from your grandfather’s lineage surges through your veins. When you howl, you release a blast of sub-zero arctic air in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution Saving Throw (DC = 8 + your Strength modifier + your Proficiency bonus). On a failed save, a creature takes 4d8 Cold Damage and its speed is reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn as its limbs freeze. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and its speed is not reduced
