Homebrew Anūna'rii Species Details

Each Pulvis is utterly unique; born of old magic and shaped by the world around them, it is said that their bodies reflect the lands their ancestors once roamed. Some bear dense coats to stave off the bitter cold, or bark-like skin that serves as a natural camouflage. One may walk with delicate grace, sleek tail trailing behind, while another may carry weathered scales that can withstand even the most extreme temperatures. This diversity is not cosmetic—each individual is a reflection of their birthplace, shaped not by bloodlines or evolution, but by the echoes of a world still singing with power.

Pulvis often tend to be withdrawn and solitary, choosing to venture alone or with a close-knit group of their kin. However, it is not unheard of for a Pulvis to live amongst other humanoid races, often adopting more similar traits to those around them.

Anūna'rii Traits

As a Pulvis, you have these special traits.

Adaptable

You gain +1 to your Constitution Score and +2 to an Ability Score of your choice to a maximum of 20.

Arcane Conduit

You can cast the following spells: Druidcraft at level 1, Absorb Elements at level 3, and Alter self at level 5. You always have that spell prepared. You can cast it once without a spell slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest.

Anūna's Insight

You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice from the following: Arcana, Investigation, Medicine, Perception, Nature, Religion or Survival.

Lashing Tail

You make a melee attack roll against the target. Your bonus to the roll equals your Strength modifier plus your Proficiency Bonus. On a hit, the target takes Bludgeoning damage equal to 1 plus your Strength modifier.

If a creature you can see within 10 feet of you hits you with a melee or ranged attack roll, you can use your reaction to roll a d8, applying a bonus to your AC equal to the number rolled, potentially displacing the attack.
