Yuan-ti Malison Type 3 Traits

Your yuan-ti malison character — called a malison for short — has the following racial traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Malisons mature at the same rate as humans and have lifespans similar in length to theirs.

Alignment

Malisons are devoid of emotion and see others as tools to manipulate. They care little for law or chaos and are typically neutral evil.

Size

Malisons match humans in average size and weight. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Ancestral Weapons

You have proficiency with the scimitar and longbow.

Shapechanger

The yuan-ti can use its action to polymorph into a Medium snake, or back into its true form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It doesn't change form if it dies.

Innate Spellcasting

You can cast animal friendship an unlimited number of times with this trait, but you can target only snakes with it. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Constrict

You can constrict Large sized or smaller enemies with your tail.  You make a grapple check and if successful, wrap an enemy with your tail.  As a bonus action, you can inflict 1d6+Str damage to the grappled enemy. You are unable to move while constricting an enemy.  You get advantage if making weapon attacks against the constricted enemy.  However, you get disadvantage on attacking any other enemy.

Since constricting an enemy is a struggle and takes concentration, you cannot maintain any concentration spells while constricting.

Magic Resistance

You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Poison Resistance

You have resistance to poison damage and advantage to the poisoned condition.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal, and Draconic.
