Homebrew Arachnoid Species Details

An Arachnoid individual is a striking fusion of elegance and unease, their presence both mesmerizing and quietly intimidating. Standing roughly humanoid in shape, their body is partially sheathed in smooth, dark chitin that catches the light like polished armor. Fine, silvery threads of silk cling to their fingers and wrists, often drifting in the air as if alive. Their face, while mostly human in structure, is marked by multiple faintly glowing eyes—usually four to six—set symmetrically, giving them an unnervingly wide field of vision.

Their movements are deliberate and fluid, almost too precise, as if every step is calculated. When still, they can remain perfectly motionless for long stretches, blending into shadow or structure with unnatural ease. Soft-spoken and observant, this Arachnoid tends to watch before acting, speaking only when necessary, their voice calm but layered with an odd, echoing undertone.

Yet beneath that controlled exterior lies something deeper. When threatened, their demeanor shifts instantly—posture lowering, limbs tightening, and venom glands activating with a faint shimmer at their fangs or fingertips. In rare cases, if they bear the Broodmarked trait, that calm fractures entirely, replaced by sudden, predatory aggression. Their silk becomes binding and suffocating, their strikes fast and merciless, turning them from a quiet observer into a deadly hunter in seconds.

Arachnoid Traits
