Homebrew Dairyan Species Details
A blob of nutrient liquid rich in calcium. It has the same consistency of cheese, but more like a slimy substance. It can appear in any shape, though usually residing inside a barrel or another container. it is unable to wear armour due to its body, although it uses a container as a sort of shell.
Dairyan Traits
A dairyan is a creature from a world called Calcia. This worlds life forms are mostly comprised of calcium, as its atmosphere and lakes are filled with it. due to the gravity and preassure of the planet, most life evolves as a kind of slime rich in calcium, commonly reffered to as cheese. the substance from which they are made from is very similar to the composition of cheese, although in a constant slime-like liquid state.Calcium solidity
You can use the calcium in your body to create a weapon of your choice. you have to have both seen the weapon and be proficient in it in order to do this. the weapon will have the exact stats as the regular weapon.
Shape change
Using an action, you can change the shape of your body. multiple possibilities include;
1. extending a limb up to 50 ft, every 10 ft gives a -1 on strength checks with that limb.
2. becoming humanoid, quadraped, or taking the form of another creature. you will have the same stats and abilities, and you will stay the same size.
3. Shifting into a liquid state. This gives a disadvantage on dexterity saving throws while you are liquid, and a -10 to movement speed.
4. changing shape into an object, such as a large cube, or a table or chair or barrel. you will stay the same size.
5. inflating with air. this gives a disadvantage to dexterity, a +4 to any saving throw involving charisma, and makes you appear up to one size larger than your true size.
Resistance to physical force
You gain a resistance to Bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing damage and any physical attacks against you have a chance of getting stuck. when a creature attacks you physicaly, they must make a strength saving throw of your strength score otherwise their weapon becomes stuck and cannot be used. in order for the weapon to become unstuck, you either have to release it or they have to succeed another strength saving throw. if their fist or limb becomes stuck, they will also become grappled until succeeding the saving throw.
