Homebrew (2024) Azer Species Details
Azer are elemental creatures native to the Plane of Fire. They have brass-colored skin and hair made up of flames. While they bear a resemblance to dwarfes, it is unknown if Azer are just descendants of dwarfes that have adapted to the plane of fire or if they originated from the Elemental Planes.
Living within fortresses made of bronze on the Elemental Plane of Fire, Azer constantly wage war with the Efreet, despite the fact that they were once allies. Despite this, Azer are friendly towards most other creatures and are famous across the realms for their work with gems and valuable metals. Adventuring Azer often forge their own weapons and armour or wield the fire of the elemental planes through their innate magic.

Starting at level 5, you can use this feature to cast Heat Metal once without a spells slot, and you must finish a Long Rest before you can do so again.

Ignite Weapon. As a bonus action, you can touch a weapon or up to ten pieces of ammunition. For one minute, it sheds dim light in a 5-foot radius and once per turn when you hit a creature with this weapon or on of these pieces of ammunition, you deal additional fire damage equal to your proficiency bonus to that creature. When you reach level 5, creatures that take this damage also start burning.
