Skyland the Hidden Monastery

To most Stone Monkeys, the Monastery is the most important holy site. Stone Monkeys owe their devotion and respect to the Monastery and its secrets above all else, even the gods. Each Stone Monkey's conduct reflects on the honor of his or her element, and bringing dishonor to their masters or the Monastery can result in expulsion and exile. However, if one has been determined to be Avatar, they are forced to go out into the world and learn from the first benders and protect the world on the mortal and spiritual plain. Once Exiled, or sent off to protect the world, They are unable or unallowed to return.
