Homebrew Candle Folk Species Details
Candlefolk are humanoids formed from enchanted wax with a magical flame burning atop their heads. Their flame reflects their emotions, flickering brighter with excitement and dimmer with sadness.
Candle Folk Traits
Creature Type Humanoid Size Medium or Small (choose when creating your character). Speed 30 feetInner Flame
Your magical flame sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet.
As a bonus action, you may extinguish or relight your flame.
While your flame is extinguished:
- You have advantage on Stealth checks made in darkness.
- You lose the benefits of your Warm Glow trait.
Warm Glow
Whenever you finish a short or long rest, choose up to a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus. Those creatures gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
Wax Body
Once per long rest, when you take damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d12 + your proficiency bonus as your body absorbs the impact.
Candlefolk Resilience
However, when you take cold damage, your movement speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn as your wax stiffens.
