Homebrew Gammothfolk Species Details

"Found in the most frigid regions of the world, Gammothfolk are behemoths with massive tusks. Though they are herbivores, when provoked they will leverage their enormous weight and trunks to crush a threat. They can also shatter the snow covering their legs to damage nearby foes."

Gammothfolk resemble a woolly mammoth version of Loxodon. The fur covering its huge body is mostly blue-ish, although it's also white and red on its trunk, legs, back and underside. It has brown plating covering most of its head and limbs, as well as two tusks seemingly made of the same material. This plating has been tested, and is extremely resistant to specifically cold damage. Their trunk is stronger than most Loxodons and used for picking up objects and even wielding a shield.

Gammothfolk are a surprisingly gentle race to those they deem friendly. While most live in packs in small towns in the tundra, some live in nomadic communities, rescuing lost travellers or people left to die.

Gammothfolk Traits

..

Ability Score Increase

You gain a plus 2 bonus to your Constitution Score and a plus 1 bonus to your Strength Score

Trunk

You can grasp things with your trunk, and you can use it as a snorkel. It has a reach of 5 feet, and it can lift a number of pounds equal to five times your Strength score. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options. It can't wield weapons or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell, but you can wield a shield with it, so long as the shield is not magical.

Ice Walk

You  can move across and climb icy surfaces without needing to make an ability check. Additionally, difficult terrain composed of ice or snow doesn't cost it extra movement.

Tough Build

You gain a plus one to your hit points every level

Snow Clump Armor

If you have an excess of snow and ice around you (Or a spell that can create it, using spell slots as needed), along with 30 minutes that can be taken during a rest, you can adhere the clumped ice to your body. So long as the ice and snow is on your body, you gain a bonus to your AC equal to your proficiency bonus. This bonus lasts until you take a number of hits equal to your proficiency bonus, when which the snow and ice is broken off your fur. Also, if you take fire damage, that breaks the ice immediately. If you take a cold damage, the breaking "countdown" is reduced by one.
