Homebrew Abolethkin Species Details

Description

Abolethkin are in all visible aspects, human. They are typically the same size and height as humans. However there is one minor and one major difference, Abolethkin all appear to be female their entire lives, and the major difference is that they are all, like Aboleths, hermaphroditic, both reproductive organs function perfectly fine as well. They mature at the same rate at humans and can stop maturing when they decide to do so. Older Abolethkin have red eyes and white hair, with very pale skin. The younger Abolethkin have hair and eyes of many different colors, and more lively skin.

Abolethkin don't have any problems being in or out of water, though better in water than most creatures.

Abolethkin like Aboleths, don't die of old age and live indefinitely.

Abilities

Abolethkin have powerful psionic powers and were natural psions like mind flayers and many other denizens of the Far Realm.

Abolethkin have the same racial memory as Aboleths, each individual inheriting the memories of its ancestors. Furthermore, it assimilated the memories of those it consumed. However Abolethkin's brains do not grow with the more memories it gains, though it can easily store them all with no problems.

Abolethkin are all hermaphroditic, possessing both male and female reproductive organs, when they decide to have children, they do it in private. A child of an Abolethkin and another race will always be born Abolethkin. In cases that the race that parents the other child also has the same conditions, such as tieflings, it depends which parental role the Abolethkin took part in reproduction. If they are giving birth to the child, it will be Abolethkin, if they are not the one to give birth to the child, it will be the other race, in this example Tiefling.

Also as an added mention, Abolethkin gained the memories of both parents, even if they weren't both Abolethkin.

Psychology

Though the orginal Abolethkin were cruel while being highly intelligent, as generations of Abolethkin came along, they'd still have their highly intelligent minds, but some decided to be less cruel. Some became outright good and engaged in heroics.

Like Aboleths, Abolethkin are self centered as well, while some have outgrown that.

The older Abolethkin still hold onto life as if they were still Abolethkin, meaning that they engage in similar behavior and schemes as Aboleths would normally do.

Culture

Abolethkin usually live in towns and cities full of each other, they are open to allowing other races to become apart of the community, however some communities aren't so kind to other races. Towns and cities are usually named after the oldest Abolethkin who helped create it.

The older Abolethkin acknowledge the existence of gods but do not partake in worship. However younger Abolethkin worship gods in a form of repent for their elder's sins, in hope that one day either the curse will be lifted, or they will become their very own race no longer associated with their elders who have committed the sins they repent for.

Languages You learn two languages of your choice.

Ability Score Increase an ability score of your choice increases by 1. Your Intelligence score increases by 3, your Wisdom score by 2, and your Charisma by 2.

Age You do not age or die of old age, you mature at the normal rate of a human, and can stop maturing at any time you'd like.

 The older Abolethkin tend to be Lawful Evil, while younger Abolethkin tend to lean towards any Alignment.

Size Abolethkin are between 3 and 7 feet tall and average 60- 242 lbs, your size is medium or small.

Speed 30 ft

Darkvision older Abolethkin can see in dim light within 60 feet of themselves as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. They can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Young Abolethkin do not have darkvision.

Memories Feasting Abolethkin gain the memories of what they consume.

Due to having Aboleth heritage, you have high intelligence, good wisdom, and are really great with people, now being really great with people is mainly because you could easily use them as pawns, now not all Abolethkin use people as pawns, but that is your choice.

Abolethkin mature at the rate of humans, stop maturing when they wish, stop aging, and don't die of aging.

Abolethkin are between 3 and 7 feet tall and average 60- 242 lbs, your size is medium or small.
