Homebrew Blind Human Species Details
Found throughout the multiverse, sightless humans are as varied as they are numerous, and they endeavor to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Though adapted to a world without light, their ambition and resourcefulness are commended, respected, and feared on many worlds.
Sightless humans are as diverse in appearance as the people of Earth, with their only unifying trait being their dim, sightless eyes. Scholars dispute the origin of this adaptation, but one of the earliest known gatherings of these unique humans is said to have occurred in the deepest, echo-filled chambers of Sigil, the torus-shaped city at the center of the multiverse where they learned to navigate the City of Doors using only the subtle shifts in wind and sound. From there, they have spread to every part of the multiverse, proving that the dark is not a barrier, but a domain to be mastered.
Sightless Human Traits
-
Creature Type: Humanoid
-
Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall) or Small (about 2–4 feet tall), chosen when you select this species
-
Speed: 30 feet
-
Blindsight: You can perceive your surroundings within 60 feet without relying on sight. Within this radius, you can effectively see anything that isn't behind total cover, including invisible creatures. You are immune to the Blinded condition within this range, and magical darkness does not affect you.
-
Keen Hearing and Smell: You have Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
-
Deafened Vulnerability: Your blindsight relies heavily on your ability to hear and feel air currents. If you are subjected to the Deafened condition or find yourself within the area of a Silence spell, your Blindsight radius is reduced to 10 feet, and you are considered Blinded beyond that distance.

Blindsight
You can perceive your surroundings within 60 feet without relying on sight. Within this radius, you can effectively see anything that isn't behind total cover, including invisible creatures. You are immune to the Blinded condition within this range, and magical darkness does not affect you.
Note: This sense represents your hyper-acute awareness of your environment through echolocation, hearing, and sensing subtle shifts in air currents.
Keen Hearing and Smell
You have Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
Note: Your lack of sight has heightened your other senses to a superhuman degree. You can detect the faint rustle of clothing, the distinct rhythm of a beating heart, or the subtle scent of an approaching creature long before others notice them.
Deafened Vulnerability
Your blindsight relies heavily on your ability to hear and feel air currents. If you are subjected to the Deafened condition or find yourself within the area of a Silence spell, your Blindsight radius is reduced to 10 feet, and you are considered Blinded beyond that distance.
Note: Without the guidance of sound or the pressure of moving air, your perception is heavily crippled. In a world of absolute silence, you are truly left in the dark.
