Homebrew Almudronfolk Species Details
Almudronfolk have scaly skin ranging in color from gray to creamy yellow to pinkish red. Its underbelly is covered in wide, pinkish scales. Almudron's head features some mammalian-like traits, sporting a short snout, a pair of red eyes, and several whisker-like tendrils. Both the back side of its body and its legs are covered by a gray-colored shell with some darker highlights. The shell forms two ridges on its neck reminiscent of Lagiacrus' hood. Looking at them, they sort of resemble catfish. They are almost always covered in mud, letting it act as a sort of second skin.

Damage Resistance
You have resistance to acid damage.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Muddy Ambush
You are proficient in the Athletic skill.
A number of times per Long Rest equal to your Proficiency Bonus you can take your full Action to burrow into the ground, provided it is only made of dirt, mud, or other easy to move earthy material. You burrow 10 feet down, and turn the area within 20 feet of you into difficult terrain made of mud. You then ready your action so that if any Hostile creature moves through the mud or enters the mud, you can take a melee weapon, melee spell, or unarmed attack against that creature, tunnelling up and attacking them. The creature then has to make a Dexterity Saving Throw equal to 8 + (Your Proficiency Bonus) + Your Dexterity Or Strength Modifier, otherwise they are knocked prone.
Mud Bath
As part of a long rest, you can melt the natural terrain around you, transforming it into a mud bath. A creature that spends at least one hour in this bath gains the following benefits:
- If the creature takes a bath in the mud, they gain a +1 to AC with that AC boost fading after the first attack they take
- If the creature is suffering from more than one level of exhaustion, it can losing one extra level of exhaustion when it finishes the long rest.
- The creatures that get out of the bath get a boost to their first initiative roll equal to their PB
