Homebrew Crimson Lordbound Species Details
Crimson Lordbound are rare humanoids born with the sealed bloodline title of a Cursed Demon Lord.
They are not normal demons, tieflings, or half-fiends. They are human-shaped beings with demon lord blood trapped inside an unawakened body. Most Crimson Lordbound have red skin, dark hair, horns, sharp features, and a cursed pressure around them that makes people feel like they are standing near something important.
At low levels, a Crimson Lordbound is still dormant. Their horns are small, their wings have not fully emerged, and their true rank is hidden. They can still understand spoken languages through instinct, and they carry the manners, pressure, and knowledge of old noble blood.
Their wealth usually comes from noble family money, demon cult inheritance, sealed estates, old vaults, abandoned titles, or forbidden bloodline rights. They are not merchants. Their status comes from inheritance, power, and fear.
Humans often fear them or treat them with suspicion. Guards may watch them closely. Common people may not understand what they are, but they still feel pressure from their presence.
Fiends can sense the bloodline. Their reaction depends on how awakened the Crimson Lordbound is. Weak fiends may fear them later, equal fiends may test them, and stronger fiends may mock them while their demon lord power is still sealed.
A Crimson Lordbound grows stronger every five levels.
At level 1, they are a Dormant Scion. They understand spoken languages and carry noble pressure, but their demon lord blood is still sealed.
At level 5, their horns grow larger and demonic wings emerge, allowing flight with limits.
At level 10, their cursed tongue fully awakens, allowing them to read and write all languages.
At level 15, the Demon Lord’s Mark appears as a cracked halo symbol on their chest. This mark is permanent and shows the first true awakening of their bloodline. The mark can be activated once per long rest for temporary demon lord power. When the mark is gained, the DM assigns a Demon Lord Awakening Objective tied to the character’s bloodline, curse, or inheritance.
At level 20, the Crimson Lordbound becomes capable of holding True Demon Lord Form, but only if and when the Demon Lord Awakening Objective has been completed. Once unlocked, the form is permanently available and can be entered once per long rest.
True Demon Lord Form fully opens the cracked halo mark, strengthens the wings, grows the horns into a lordlike shape, and allows the Crimson Lordbound to fly even while wearing armor or using a shield. While in this form, all people and creatures who can perceive them feel their rank. Mortals feel pressure, fiends recognize the bloodline, cultists recognize authority, and nobles understand they are above ordinary bloodlines.
Crimson Lordbound are powerful in presence, bloodline, and growth, but their race does not grant extra damage, extra armor, bonus hit points, natural armor, necrotic resistance, or forced obedience.
Crimson Lordbound gain the following traits from their sealed Cursed Demon Lord bloodline.
