Homebrew Water Tribe Venavis Species Details

The Water Tribe holds great resemblance to penguins and other birds of the far north. The only venavis that cannot fly, their wings grant them unparalleled maneuverability and speed in the water, as well as the ability to project out divine magic to their allies. The largest of the water tribes fittingly live on the sea, maintaining large floatillas that meander across the open ocean. During the war, water tribe venavis fought from the front, facing dragons of the land and sea head on. In modern time, many act as sailors and fishermen, in service to both their tribes and those beyond.

Signature Weaponry: Spears, Tridents

Venavis

Long thought to be related to the aarakocra, the venavis are a species shaped by Tehiri itself. When dragons assaulted Tehiri during the War of the Frozen Hells, the gods Hacina and Darasif performed a rare act of cooperation and created the venavis from ordinary birds found in Leonios. They would be a divine species, destined to protect the land and sky alike from the draconic scourge, and specialized to face them wherever they'd appear. Even now, with the war over, the four most prominent tribes remain vigilant over Tehiri, awaiting the day they're needed again.
