Homebrew Dornian Leonin Species Details

APPEARANCE
The Dornians are typically depicted as light-furred, large feline-like creatures. Many have ponytail-like braids and are characterized by large, muscular physiques.

Since the Dornians share similar traits to that of Lions, they presumably share similar levels of sexual dimorphism, with the males sporting large manes and the female Dornian lacking a mane- much like female lions. However, unlike male lions, male Dornians are capable of growing large beards.

CULTURE
Although little is known about their culture, Battle Beast’s behavior suggests that the Dorinins originate from a society shaped by war and chaos.

HISTORY

Took and Mokk are two of the most notable Dorinins. Thokk, having experienced countless battles on Dornin, exiled himself to seek a warrior worthy of his strength. He traveled the galaxy, eventually learning of fighters on Earth, though dissatisfied with what he found, he continued his quest for worthy opponents before being imprisoned on a space asteroid.

After Thokk’s departure, the Dorinins became vulnerable to external threats, including the Viltrumites, an invasive species of aliens that look similar to humans but stronger, smarter and better. Mokk chose to align with the Coalition of Finals, contributing to their war efforts. He later encountered Invincible, a Viltrumite-Human hybrid being the son of a viltrumite father "Nolan" and a human mother named "Debbie", expressing caution and distrust toward him, noting that Invincible had “not betrayed the humans yet".

When Nolan, a viltrumite and Allen an artificial Unopan visited Dornin in search of Battle Beast (Thokk) , the Dornians were initially hostile but revealed that he had left long ago, seeking worthy opponents across the galaxy. They cryptically advised that he could be found “anywhere where blood and fire are.”

• Size: Your size is Medium. You stand well over 7 feet tall and weigh between 300 to 400 pounds.
• Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

  Special Traits
  • Battle Frenzy: When you are reduced to less than half of your maximum hit points, your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d4 damage of the weapon's type.
  • Indomitable Will: You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
  • Monstrous Claws: Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
  • Unstoppable Gaze: When you roll an Intimidation check, you can use your Strength modifier instead of Charisma for the roll.
