Homebrew Demi-God: Child of Tyche Species Details

Tyche is the Greek goddess of fortune, chance, and prosperity, known for her unpredictable influence over the lives of both gods and mortals. Born of Aphrodite and Zeus, she governs luck, shaping the outcomes of everyday events with her shifting will. Tyche’s power can manifest in sudden bursts of good fortune or in the harshest misfortunes, leaving those affected at the mercy of fate. While she has the ability to bless those she favours with remarkable success, she can also bring downfall to those who anger her. Though often seen as a force of chaos, Tyche is not inherently cruel, as she represents the natural ebb and flow of life.

Her demigod children often experience the same volatile swings of fortune, seeing their lives shaped by unexpected twists. Their paths are constantly marked by the unpredictable hand of fate, a reminder of Tyche’s vast influence over destiny.

Luck Be A Lady

You gain proficiency in Sleight of Hand, Persuasion and Deception. You are proficient with dice sets, playing card sets, chess sets, and three dragon ante sets. You have advantage to all ability checks whenever you are gambling or playing a board game that involves an element of luck. 

Fortune’s Favour

You are blessed by Tyche’s capricious nature, granting you a constant aura of fortune.
Once per long rest, you can roll an additional d20 when making an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check. You must choose to use this extra roll before the result is known, and you take the higher of the two rolls.

Take A Gamble

Once per short rest, you can declare a Fortune’s Gamble before making an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check. If you succeed, you gain temporary hit points equal to twice your level. However, if you fail, you take psychic damage equal to your level as the fickle nature of fate punishes you.
