Homebrew Demi-God: Child of Hestia Species Details

Hestia is the goddess of the hearth, home, family, hospitality and the sacred flame. She is the patron and protector of housekeepers, caregivers, and family bonds. She is the firstborn child of Kronos and Rhea, and gave up her place as one of the twelve Olympians to Dionysus in order to maintain peace amongst the gods. She is pictured as a veiled figure wearing simple robes and carrying a glowing flame or seated by a sacred hearth.

Hestia is a virgin goddess, having turned down the advances of both Poseidon and Apollo. As such, her demigod children are born through divine blessing, often appearing to parents who long to conceive but cannot, as infants swaddled in the coals of their fireplace. Hestia only blesses those who truly yearn for a family, ensuring that her children are born out of intention, commitment, and with the willingness to welcome a child with unconditional love. Hestia is often seen as the weakest of the gods due to her passive nature, but she was one of the most important divine figures to the everyday mortal. She represents family, peace and the unity of home, and her worship was central to every household in ancient Greece.
