Homebrew Direling of Nesdrall Species Details

Direlings are wolf-like humanoids born from the ancient powers that linger within Nesdrall. Though their forms differ greatly, every direling bears some resemblance to a wolf or other great canine. Some are small and wiry, while others possess the stature of towering predators. Their bodies are deathless, their minds carry fragments of consumed knowledge, and the silent city recognizes them as its rightful residents.

Direling of Nesdrall Traits

The Deadlands have made you belong or you were there all along

Deathless Nature

  • You are immune to disease.
  • You do not need to eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You do not need to sleep, and magic cannot put you to sleep.
  • You can finish a long rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in a state of inactivity. You remain conscious throughout the rest.

Knowledge from Consumption

When you make an ability check that uses a skill, you can roll a d6 immediately after seeing the number rolled on the d20 but before the outcome of the check is determined. Add the number rolled on the d6 to the ability check. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Resident of Nesdrall

The ancient laws and powers of Nesdrall recognize you as a lawful resident of the city. You may speak within Nesdrall without suffering the punishment normally imposed upon those who break the city’s supernatural silence.
This protection remains only while you obey the laws and decrees of Nesdrall. It does not protect you from punishment for treason, unlawful violence, forbidden speech, or any other violation of the city’s laws.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal, Draconic, and Vhorric.

Direling Legacy

The creatures from which your lineage descended have left a permanent mark upon your body or mind. Choose one of the following legacies when you select this race:
Aquatic Legacy. You have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
Winged Legacy. You have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You cannot use this flying speed while wearing medium or heavy armor.
Consumed Aptitude. You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make using that skill.
If another feature would also double your proficiency bonus for that skill, the benefits do not stack.

Poison immunity

You are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Dark vision

You can see in dim light within 120 feet of yourself as though it were bright light, and in darkness as though it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

Magic Resistance

You have advantage on saving throws against spells.
