Homebrew Dracowolf Species Details

“Long ago, roughly 9 centuries ago I think, time runs together when you are my age, there was a foolish human wizard. He was on a mission to create a new spell. One that could cure lycanthropes, both purebreds and created. He succeeded in doing so but this wasn’t why he was foolish. He was foolish because he got too close to his test subject. As the wizard tried to cast his spell I lunged mind transformation. The spell connected while my teeth sank into his throat. The outcome of his spell is what you see before you. A few others have found the wizards spell and tried to use it. They all eventually met the same fate, death. But not without discovering first that the spell works but if cast on someone mid transformation they retain the shape they were in when the spell connected. And their children look like they are in various stages of transformation.” -Drakiel Silverfang

   Dracowolves look like a Dragonborn turned lycan that is in mid transformation. All of them have a wolf snout and eyes. Some have horns, all have both fur and scales. Some have full wolf tails but most do not. They are a strong and agile race. When the spell struck the first Dracowolves they lost their breath weapon. Their minds still retain some of that animal aggression and instinct and slows their ability to comprehend logical thought and makes it harder to learn from books. They also retained the wolf’s cunning nature making them tend toward chaotic evil, enjoying causing others harm.

Age

Young dracowolf grow relatively quickly. They walk weeks after being born, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 5, and reach adulthood by 18. Due to their lycanthrope heritage, around the age of 30 they seem to stop aging or at least age much slower than any race save maybe the elves. How long they live is unknown. 

Alignment

Dracowolves tend to be lawful neutral. They keep to themselves and their structured tribes. Most Dracowolves that venture into the world tend to give into their lycanthrope heritage and are chaotic evil causing other races that know of them to be leery of them at best.

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
