The Frostfang Wolf is a rare breed of wolf shaped by generations of survival in the harshest frozen regions of the world. Larger and more powerfully built than an ordinary wolf, she has a thick double coat of snow-white, silver and pale grey fur, allowing her to disappear almost completely against snowy landscapes.

Her paws are broad and heavily furred, helping her move across deep snow without sinking as easily as other creatures. Beneath her coat is a strong, muscular frame built for travelling long distances through freezing wilderness. Her claws are dark and slightly curved, providing grip on ice and frozen ground.

Her eyes are particularly striking. They can range from icy blue to almost silvery-white, reflecting even the smallest amount of light. When she becomes alert, her gaze is intensely focused, giving the impression that she is constantly watching and judging everything happening around her.

Frostfang Wolves are naturally protective and pack-oriented. Once she considers someone part of her pack, she rarely willingly abandons them. She may position herself between an injured companion and danger, sleep close to vulnerable members of the group, or quietly follow someone she believes needs protecting.

Despite her intimidating appearance, she isn't naturally aggressive. She watches before attacking, often communicating through posture, growls, whines and quiet movements rather than immediately resorting to violence. However, threatening someone she considers part of her pack can cause her calm demeanour to change almost instantly.

There is also something unusual about her connection to the cold. Her breath forms a faint mist even when the surrounding air isn't particularly cold, and during moments of strong emotion, tiny crystals of frost can gather along the tips of her fur.

As a Cleric, her divine magic strengthens this supernatural connection. When she heals an ally, a gentle chill may briefly pass over their wounds before the pain fades. When she calls upon more powerful divine magic, frost can spread beneath her paws and her pale eyes become almost luminous.

To strangers, she might simply appear to be an unusually large and beautiful arctic wolf.

But those who travel beside her quickly realise that she is something more.

She isn't simply following the party.

She has chosen them as her pack. ❄️🐺

❄️ Frostfang Wolf Traits

Frostfang Wolves are rare wolves shaped by the unforgiving cold of the frozen wilderness. Their powerful bodies, thick coats, heightened senses, and natural connection to winter allow them to survive where many creatures cannot. Though formidable hunters, their greatest strength comes from their loyalty to their pack.

🐺 Keen Hearing and Smell

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

❄️ Frostborn Resilience

You have resistance to Cold damage and are naturally adapted to extremely cold environments.

🌙 Darkvision

You can see in dim light within 60 feet as though it were bright light and in darkness as though it were dim light. You see colours in darkness only as shades of grey.

❄️ Snow Walker

Nonmagical snow and ice don't cost you additional movement.

🐺 Pack Hunter

Once on each of your turns, when you make an attack against a creature that has one of your conscious allies within 5 feet of it, you can gain advantage on that attack roll.

❄️ Frost-Touched Fangs

Your supernatural connection to winter begins affecting your attacks.

Once per turn when you hit with your Frostfang Bite, you can deal an additional 1d4 Cold damage.

Your bite also counts as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks.

🛡️ Guardian of the Pack

When a creature you can see attacks one of your allies within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll.

You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all uses after a Long Rest.

🌨️ Winter's Pursuit

Your speed increases from 40 feet to 45 feet.

Additionally, magical effects can't reduce your speed while you're moving across snow or ice.

🐺 Relentless Hunter

When you hit a creature with your bite, you can attempt to knock it Prone.

The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against:

DC = 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength modifier

You can use this ability once per turn.

❄️ Heart of Winter

Your connection to the frozen wilderness becomes incredibly powerful.

You are now immune to Cold damage instead of resistant to it.

You also ignore difficult terrain caused by magical and nonmagical snow and ice.

🌨️ Frozen Howl

As a Bonus Action, you unleash a supernatural howl filled with the power of winter.

Choose creatures within 30 feet that can hear you. Each chosen ally gains temporary hit points equal to your level + your Wisdom modifier.

Enemies of your choice within the area must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Cleric spell save DC. On a failure, they become Frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Once you use Frozen Howl, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.

🐺❄️ Alpha of the Frozen Wilds

You have become a legendary Frostfang Wolf.

Your Frostfang Bite increases to 1d8 piercing damage, and Frost-Touched Fangs increases from 1d4 to 1d8 Cold damage.

Your walking speed increases to 50 feet.

Additionally, when you or an ally within 10 feet of you would be reduced to 0 HP, you can use your reaction to unleash a protective howl. That creature drops to 1 HP instead.

Once you use this protective howl, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
