Homebrew Doll Construct Species Details

A Construct in The Form of a Doll, the material can resemble one of three things, Porcelain, Wood, or a Tin-like Metal. The Material that makes up the form of a doll construct is regenerative in nature, it is debatable whether this property comes from magic, or artificial means. This race has many unnatural abilities, such as a lack of need for air, water, food, and other forms of energy, however it’s body can be quite fragile, and prone to injury.
Doll constructs operate on both Magical energy and Physical science, typically without a need to for external input.
The Origin of Doll Constructs isn’t exactly known, they have been around since the dawn of royal hierarchy, typically serving as Maids or Butlers to Lords, Ladies, Kings, Queens, and the many more. Some Dolls would serve in more conventional means such as housekeeping, others as personal guards, and some as messengers, or even gifts. Doll Constructs tend to be very loyal to those they serve, however it isn't uncommon for one to rebel for their own freedom. Doll Constructs do not exactly require the need for a soul, however, it is common for slaves, servants, or squabbled workers in search of the need of money for themselves or loved ones to willingly (or not) take up possessing a Doll Construct for either the owner/creator's desire for loyalty, charisma, or other means. In some cases people construct their own dolls as vessels to hold their souls after their death in a desire to continue living on, however, this method is not very successful, at least without outer influences or divining means.
In some very rare cases, gods, deities, demigods, or other divine figures have been known to possess these Doll Constructs for a view of the Mortal Realm, some to entertain themselves, some for goals of conquest or chaos, but most of the time, it is typically unknown their reasons why.

A Long, long time ago an ancient king and the queen of elves were at a very long political unrest, so to try and put an ease to this "cold war" the Elven Queen went to the eldest of Fae to use magic to create something that wouldn't need to depend on magic it's self, so the Elder Fae, obviously perplexed by this- like- "what the **** do we do, magic is our thing", basically magically influenced primitive Myconids to be able to bond with certain material to basically replicate it, and over ages of evolution they were able to replicate these complex structures without magical influence anymore. (kind of like grafting almost?) Then many, many ages after, when the war had already broken out, long after the king and queen died. The Elder Fae offered the earliest of Doll Constructs to man in exchange to not interfere or try and take over the Fae realm (In my personal homebrew world, it'd be a sub-plain hidden deep within a place known as the "Enclave Forest")

Doll Construct Traits

Your race has many unnatural abilities, such as a lack of need for air, water, food, and other forms of energy, however your body can be quite fragile, and prone to injury, however, one can recover from these easily.

Hollow Vitality

You Lack The Need of Air, Food, Water, Warmth, or any other form of external energy Due to the fact that you aren't biologically alive.

Doll's Dismantle

Due to your segmented form, you are able to remove, interchange, and replace your limbs, while these limbs are detached you can maintain control over them within a limited range of a mile. Your head in specific can be detached but cannot be replaced.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age

You are physically Ageless due to being a construct, However this does not apply mentally, Doll Constructs tend to learn at an accelerated rate compared to others.

Size

Elves range from under 5 to over 6 feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Due to your nimble and light weight frame, your base walking speed is 40 feet.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.
