Homebrew Azure Dusk Elf Species Details
Azure Dusk Elves are an exceptionally rare lineage of dusk elf whose connection to the boundary between light and darkness has been touched by the divine magic of Azura. They retain the long lives, meditative nature, and fey ancestry of their elven kin, but possess an unusual sensitivity to the unseen threads connecting creatures, choices, and possible futures.
This connection sometimes manifests as brief flashes of supernatural foresight. An Azure Dusk Elf may instinctively anticipate danger before it arrives, glimpse the consequences of a choice before it is made, or feel the invisible pull of fate upon those around them.
Their connection to Azura can also manifest physically. Some bear unusual coloration or subtle celestial markings, while others produce faint strands of silver-blue light when invoking their innate magic. Particularly powerful manifestations may take the shape of ethereal wings, woven from luminous threads rather than feather and bone.
Though these gifts are sometimes regarded as divine blessings, their origins are poorly understood. Among dusk elves, the appearance of an Azure Dusk Elf may therefore be regarded with equal measures of reverence, curiosity, and unease.
Azure Dusk Elf Traits
Creature Type: Humanoid
Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall)
Speed: 30 feet, Fly Speed equal to your Speed
Trance
You don't need to sleep, and magic can't put you to sleep. You can finish a Long Rest in 4 hours if you spend those hours in a trancelike meditation, during which you retain consciousness.
Azure Legacy
You know the Guidance cantrip. Starting at character level 3, you always have the Augury spell prepared and can cast it once without a spell slot or Material components, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest. You can also cast it using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast with this trait (choose the ability when you select this species).
Darkvision
You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Glimpse Fate
When you roll Initiative, if you aren’t surprised, you can choose a number of creatures that you can see equal to your Proficiency Bonus. The targets have Advantage on their Initiative rolls. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
Fey Ancestry
You have Advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the Charmed condition on yourself.
Threadstep
As a Bonus Action, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Starting at 3rd level, when you teleport using this trait, you gain Resistance to all damage until the start of your next turn.
When you use this trait, your form briefly unravels into strands of silver-blue light before weaving itself together again at your destination.
