Homebrew Mothfolk Species Details
The Mothfolk are a fey species, hidden in the natural climbs of the Feywilds. Many remain hidden away, secretly working on whatever goals they have, though some have found their way to Intrica, and Aegis.
Mothfolk are few and far between, more often than not. They often find themselves at one with the natural world, enjoying the company of nature. Light, as you may expect, is well-appreciated thing by many, even to the point they have a magical affinity for light, creating it at will.
Mothfolk Traits
As a Mothfolk, you get the following:Darkvision
You have Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saves against against Charm effects, and are immune to magical sleep effects.
Flight of the Moths
When you reach character level 5, you can use your moth wings to temporarily fly. As a Bonus Action, you use the wings on your back for 10 minutes or until you have the Incapacitated condition. During that time, you have a Fly Speed equal to your Speed. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a Long Rest.
Moth Magic
Your fey ancestry grants you inherent magic. You know the Light cantrip.
When you reach character level 3, you learn the Guiding Bolt spell. You always have that spell prepared. You can cast it once without a spell slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast with this trait (choose the ability when you first select this species).
Secondary Arms
You have two slightly smaller secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a Tiny object, or wield a weapon that has the light property.
