Homebrew Bovina (CowGirl) Species Details

Origin and History

Bovina trace their beginnings to a valley that survived a centuries-long famine. According to their oldest stories, a herd of cattle gathered around the valley’s last spring, refusing to leave even as the land dried around them. A nature spirit answered their devotion by transforming them into the first Bovina and granting them milk that could restore the weak.

The Bovina built villages around springs, fields, and sheltered roads. They became farmers, healers, and guardians, sharing food with travelers during lean seasons. Their gift also drew raiders and rulers who wanted to control it. Some Bovina communities raised walls and trained horned defenders; others left their villages behind and learned to keep moving.

Today, Bovina live far beyond their ancestral valley. Some still tend the old springs, while others seek lost relatives, protect their communities, or adventure simply because they want a life of their own.
