Homebrew Zwielichtling Species Details

The Twilight Ones are as enigmatic as they are ancient, with no temperament as sorrowful as theirs. Many years their forms were conditioned to our plane, yet no scholar alive knows whence these aberrations arrived.
They of the unknown species are neither male nor female, nor of any documented kind; their forms are little more than the solid vapor of light and dark applied over a medium. They are only bound to the material plane by an unseen veil over their soul.
All Twilight Ones trace their origins to the same deep grimness of the world; as their presence brings waves of unending sorrow to both mighty kings, and the most humble of serfs, for each time a stillborn comes under this world’s stars; so too do they.
Where other species have centuries of knowledge for scholars' deductions to be made, nearly no material exists on the study of Twilight Societies; as such, little can be said with certainty.
All born under nights marked by death start with a natural following of the Goddess Histras, and while some may turn away from her “Broken Things Collective” with age, all know her name.

Roleplay Notes
Twilight Ones often have a macabre disposition, from a broken internal fixture, and a fascination for the acrid elements of the world. This does not determine their natural alignment, merely it explains a dark fascination they often have or turn away from.

Zwielichtling Traits

Minacious Appearance

Where other species have bodies which can be understood by the faithful mind, this is one that cannot, with the only ones who claim to truly understand it being long lost to madness. Members of this species are proficient in intimidation.

Pious Nature

Whilst every other species may believe this one godless due to their appearance, this species is one of the natural god-fearing devout. This grants them advantage on any and all religion checks, and half proficiency in religion due to some internal alchemy even they themselves do not understand.
