Homebrew Die Garnseelen Species Details

The Garnseelen, or, as the commons name them, the Threaded, were the second of Raimund the Inventor’s makings.

These people are small and frail of frame, spun wholly of wool. No two are the same in tincture nor in design. Their age and rank, yet, are shown by amber rings across the body, forming jewelry or designs.

This kind was made of method and by method alone via their inventor’s design, made to work as merchants in cloth halls.

These creatures have no homeland of origin; as they were wrought on a retrofitted sternwheeler. It should be noted that they are ill-suited to water, for their bodies are stuffed with wool, which drinks it greedily, and they would surely drown.

Statecraft is the specialty of this kind. They are masters at bartering as well. Their abilities of speech are a natural extension of their original role and are beyond measure of most species, able to get them in and out of any situation they so please.

The world of their eyes is one that has yet to have a deal struck. Oftentimes they choose to worship a god not for the sake of worship or religion, but instead for the sake of convenience, off of that same approach, looking for something to help them achieve their goals.

Threaded speak an ornate, archaic dialect of Common, thick with metaphor, using it in an attempt to sway those around them. This can lead to them showing their vast intelligence, but more often than not, it shows to other races that they are attempting to sway them rather than to actually speak.

Roleplay Notes
Threaded rarely wear their heart on their sleeve or reveal their intentions directly. Instead, they wear a false face. that is likely to get their desired result. Only with those they truly care for is their true self ever shown.

Die Garnseelen Traits

Natural Traders

Age

A fixed age for this species is not known. They have no compounds which degrade with time; suggesting they themselves should not degrade with time, yet, their fragility prevents them from living long in a violent world.

Size and Shape

"These creatures sit in stature comparable to the base races; though in theory they could be of any."

You stand at five to seven feet tall, with a shape designed (poorly) to mimic the race you were designed to trade with

Speed

Your walk speed is 30ft

True Mercer

"Something inherent within them makes the art of the deal so easy. Oftentimes others don't even know they are being persuaded. It is as if it were their idea from the begining, and the Stringborn just 'helped' them to see it."

You have a advantage on persuasion checks when attempting to sell something.

Natural Colporteur

"Where others find speech a battle, this kind knows it to be an equation; one which can be solved with the slightest gesture."

As a Threaded you will have ease with any interaction, others are pliant and moldable should you apply enough pressure. You have a plus one to charisma, a plus two to persuasion, and a half proficiency in persuasion
