Homebrew Celestial Cyborg Species Details

Extremely rare and few in number, the celestial cyborgs are a race created by a powerful demigod named Levi who was obsessed with self enlightenment. The cyborgs were created for the purpose of researching the natural universe in order to answer the greatest questions of existence. The cyborgs served their purpose well for thousands of years. They collected knowledge from the farthest corners of the universe and with the help of Levi they created the universe's most extensive library of books with subject matter that most mortal beings could not comprehend. They did their best to keep the library a secret from the universe but eventually a group of universal magic users found out about this library and tracked it down. On that day Levi and his army of Celestial Cyborgs fought with all they had to defend the library and the dangerous knowledge it held but could not overcome the sheer power of the dark group's magic. After a long and violent battle the magic users eventually broke through their defenses and overtook the library. With Levi gravely wounded the remaining cyborgs took their master and left. Levi knew he would not survive and that his reckless pursuit of knowledge had driven the celestial cyborgs to the brink of extinction. With his dying breaths Levi freed the cyborgs of their mental bonds and unlocked their free will. The 27 remaining celestial cyborgs buried their master and parted ways in order to finally live their own lives for the first time.

Celestial Cyborg Traits

As a celestial cyborg you gain the following racial traits

Ability Score Increase

Your wisdom and intelligence scores both increase by 1.

Darkvision/Light

When you are in a dark area you can choose to use darkvision or you can use lightvision and create beams of light from both of your eyes. Your light allows you and any allies standing behind you to see up to 15 feet in front of you.

Free will

You gain advantage on insight checks and saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Recharge

Once per combat encounter when you drop below 10 hit points you can use an action on your turn to regain hit points equal to 1d6 + your proficiency bonus. You gain an extra 1d6 again at 6th level below, 11th level, and 16th level. You gain no more that half of your maximum hit points back.

Allignment

After Levi died and the celestial cyborgs were no longer bound  to his will they began to drop Levi's personality but tended to keep the same ideals they had always had. Believing that the pursuit of knowledge and protection of free will of all life in the universe is more important than anything else celestial cyborgs tend to lean towards good  alignments. It is not unprecedented for celestial cyborgs to use their knowledge for selfish and evil purposes on occasion though.

Languages

You can speak, read and write Common, Undercommon, Dragonic, Elvan, Celestial, and one other exotic language of your choice.

Appearance

Celestial Cyborgs heights vary but they generally measure between 5.5 to 6.5 feet tall and weigh anywhere from 125 to 250 pounds. Celestial cyborgs cannot die from old age.
