Homebrew Yuan-ti Anathema Species Details
The Yuan-ti's quest for godhood might lead them to perform a ritual that, if successful, transforms a creature into an even greater form than an abomination: a Yuan-ti Anathema. This ritual demands the sacrifice of hundreds of snakes and requires the creature to bathe in the blood of its enemies. The transformation is quick yet painful. Not all Yuan-ti are eager to see one of their one become an Anathema, since they're often brutally tyrannical and use the Yuan-ti to further their own ends.
Not Quite Divine: Anathema often consider themselves demigods, and are often revered as such by followers and foes. Anathema often desire to ascend to true divinity.
Serpent Royalty: Anathema are often seen as royalty by Yuan-ti, and Yuan-ti will often treat them with respect and offer themselves to the Anathema.
When building an Anathema, consider how you were transformed. Did you do it willingly? What race were you before you were an Anathema? As while it is usually a Yuan-ti, it isn't out of the question for their testing to be conducted or pursued by those outside of their race. A willingly transformed Anathema is often religious, as it is a serpent god that transforms it.

Posted Sep 26, 2019Made a mistake with the Ability Score increase and decrease, I had the modifier apply to maximum rather than the score.
