Homebrew Amazon Species Details
Amazonian Lore
Amazon’s have powerful builds and come in many shapes and sizes. Full-grown Amazon's are no smaller than six feet tall. Skin colors range from pale to dark with various hair and eye colors. They are unique women and many travel long distances to catch a glimpse of them. Some are easier to find than others, for they have split into many places all over the world. These warrior women are found in heavily forested areas. However, you can find Amazon's in deserts, mountains, and some even live underground. Each tribe has its own style for their appropriate climate, for example; Desert and Mountain Amazon's will wear caftans and scarves to protect them from the elements.
Each tribe is ruled by an appointed Queen, by birthright or a Royal degree from the Atma.
Amazon Society
Each tribe has its own set of rules and temperments. Most are standoffish and like to keep to themselves. They are private, sneaky, and quick on their feet. Which is surprising for a race their size, your race is large. They hold justice, honor, and religion above all and are not afraid to fight for what they believe. They serve the Olympian Pantheon and hold Artemis as their patron goddess. Amazon’s tend to stay within their borders but on the queen's request they will go out into the world of men. Wanting them to experience the world and its hardships, most return but few are ever seen again.
Amazon’s are certainly a communal group, they believe in structure and follow that structure until death. Not all Amazon’s are warriors, deep within their borders are vast villages with young women who have other aspirations in life. Whether that be a life of service to Artemis or simply a life as a patron mother- helping to raise and teach the next generation of warrior. Patron Mother's status varies from tribe to tribe, some see them weak while others give them a high place of honor.
Amazon's prefer each other's company but that will not stop them from enjoying the carnal pleasures of the world. These women drink, smoke, and engage in pleasures if the mood suits them. Love rarely blossom's but when it does it can produce a child. Males are returned to their father and females are kept in the village and raised by the warriors and patron mothers, this is why they are considered a communal family, as single-family homes rarely exist.
They also enjoy hunting, fishing, crafting, and are experienced smiths and builders. They have created vast cities deep within their borders, which few have seen. Their weapons are finely crafted, said to be on par with dwarves and elves.
Tribes & Open Borders
As stated before, Amazon’s like to keep to themselves. However, some tribes have opened their borders for trade. Certain villages on the outskirts of amazon land have accepted travelers and their coin. As they enjoy the luxury items that trade brings them. In turn, they sell furs, food, weapons, mounts, and other various items in shops. Each village has its own rules and travelers are expected to follow them. Temples are off-limits, travelers are to stay in the trading and boarding area.
Western & Southern tribes are the most welcoming and look forward to meeting outsiders. These lands are considered more diverse and laws are not as strict, though you still have your pure Amazon's in every village. However, half Amazon's are in abundance here and have ties to the world of men, most were born outside of the breeding season. Most of the trading posts are in these regions and all are welcome as long as they follow the rules.
Eastern tribes are a bit standoffish but not all welcome outsiders to trade. These lands tend to be a bit more strict with their laws but still lax compared to the north. They are not the most talkative women, so do not expect to get much from them without proper payment. They have a few trading posts and will take any business but favor trading with women. These tribes are also mixed but have more purebloods then those in the West and South.
Northern tribes are the purest and holiest of the entire nation. They have no trading post and the northern territory is closed off to outsiders without an escort. You must go before the queen and request safe passage through her lands, she is fair and just if you offer the right incentive.

Posted Feb 4, 2023A quick update.
I will be making an updated version once I get all the new pieces flushed out. Until then, I will post a few things here as well. Let me know what you think.
Namesakes: Not all Amazons have given last names; most have a single title. Such as Harla, or Velera. Names such as Stonefist, Ironside, or Windrider are earned and given to you by your Queen. Some take on generic last names, something they enjoy in life. This would be done by lower society warriors/and family units.
