Homebrew Akash Species Details

Born from a wish, that is the legend of the Akash, they are the result of a spell that fractures chains of fate.

An Akash is born of the void, a culmination of the arcane weaving into a singular entity, a mistake of raw natural energy they are a product of their environment. called mimics by monster hunters they possess the innate ability to alter their form to suit their needs. A shadow of what could be they can look like anything or anyone but for the most part, they walk around as massive thick furry forms resembling that of a simplified bugbear with glowing red eyes.

Culture-

Their past is drenched in the blood of conquest, once a species that threatened to dominate everyone and everything, the Akash now seeks to atone for this by living lives of virtue. this does not mean there aren't outliers who miss the old ways, of death and destruction. An Akash's blood yearns for them to return to the void, they naturally gravitate towards places in which the membrane between the worlds is thin. Schools of magic, sites of magical upheaval, maybe just the woods. an Umbra will set up residence anywhere they can be close the nether springs.

Akash as a culture are nonbinary, their names stem from words mentioned in arcane books: Potion, Spirit, Gem, Sulphur, Fire

Dark Vission

Thanks to your Arcane heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim Conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were a bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in Darkness, only shades of gray.

Flexible form

The body is composed of energy allowing you to change your form at will. You can cast the Disguise Self spell at will. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Alter Self spell once with this trait. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Gaseous Form spell once with this trait. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. You must finish a long rest to cast them again.

Akash mature at the same rate at humans, reaching adulthood around age 18, after that they age rather slowly, living anywhere from 100 to 1000 years

Alignment

as a whole Akash like to live on the right side of the laws of the society they inhabit, knowing that their own personal morals might not align with what is good for the whole. Akash are usually Lawful Good.

Size

Akash at most can reach the height of 7 feet tall, they are medium in size.
