Homebrew Draconid Species Details

Just like normal Dragonborn, Draconids hatch from eggs laid by their Dragonborn parents. Although rare, the spirit of a long dead dragon may try to claw its way back into the world, refusing to accept its own mortality. When that happens, a spark of its soul touches the young Dragonborn and mentally and physically transforms them upon, making their scales harder, and their minds keener. Carrying over some of their ancestor's arrogance, they tend to view themselves as better than the other Dragonborn, although not all express or approve of these feelings. Their ancestry clearly marked by their colorful and tightly packed scales, their horned visage and their tail, they are a rarity among the Dragonborn communities. Even so, they are treated as equals in their society, with a common ground being found in their draconic ancestry, be it stronger or weaker in some. Draconids tend to have a strong will, focusing on a task and carrying it out. This, combined with their great physical fortitude makes them great fighters, and most of them are found in business related to the practice of the martial arts, be it by sword or fist. Their draconic instincts naturally guide them fighting battles and acquiring wealth, although every Draconid decides on their own which battles are worth fighting and which treasure is worthy of their attention.
