Homebrew Batfolk Species Details

Living in remote settlements built in mountain caves or dark ancient forests Batfolk are a reclusive people. Their humanoid batlike appearance can cause fear in some, awe in others  and those that travel the world are sometimes mistaken for far more terrifying and dangerous entitles than they really are.

Fang and Wing

Batfolk far more resemble large versions of their namesake than any of the other animal races. They do not posses humanoid arms or hands having instead just large batlike wings that have dew claws which can manipulate and hold objects similar to normal hands. However they can also wield objects with their feet which are very dexterous and they prefer to remain air born whenever possible. They are particularly acrobatic in their flight and are capable of many complex maneuvers including flipping around to cling to vertical or ceiling surfaces .

Night Flyers

Batfolk cannot see in the dark but they have little need for darkvision. Using high pitched sounds they can sense the world around them via echolocation, as long as they can make sound and hear. Many batflok take great pains to take good care of their ears and voice.
