Homebrew Bogahyr Species Details
Cyclopean, Troll-like creatures, Bogahyr are masters of ancient wild and dark magic. With different castes each filling important hierarchical roles they can be terrible menaces upon villages or travelers. There are acounts however of more civil Bogahyr that are able to integrate (somewhat) with villages or races.
In appearence, the hunched brutish creatures have thick and hide in varying shades from pale grey to darker greens. In the center of their head is a single eye, also varying in color, sometimes depending on caste. With short faces and large maws filled with jutting canines and tusks, they are an intimidating sight. Most Bogahyr also will have a thick and rigid tail, depending on caste, having a club at the end or ending in a rounded point.
In the tribal society, Bogahyr have three castes which each fufill an important roll: the Drehyr, Dramkar, and the Drehyr are Bogthrul.TThe chieftains and powerful spell casters, with unnatural cunning brought on buy dark and ancient magics. More able to communicate and lead others. Their eyes are said to have mystic vision.Dramkar are the bruisers. Built more solidly than the others and their tail ending in a savage club they make up the guards and raiders of the Bogahyr. With thick hide that regenerates small wounds incredibly quickly, they are a fearsome enemy. Bogthrul are the more slender of the three. Less stocky than either of their kin, the make excellent scouts and spies. They also have an affinity for magics, often cloaking themselves with spells or enchanted trinkets. They are smaller and hard to spot, yet are to be just as feared.
