Homebrew Wendigo Species Details

Rash blood-thirsty monsters, who were once a normal person, who decided to feast upon the flesh upon their own kind in the cold. The transition from normalty to becoming a Wendigo happens over time, drastically happening each bite of the forbidden flesh the person partakes of in the cold mountains.

The person in the middle of the transformation undergoes a death-like state, they fall unconcious & slowly their skin turns a light blue, their teeth all becomes suited to ripping into flesh, and their hands turns into claws. The person's body gains a inmunity to the cold & a grand weakness to heat & fire. Overtime the person grows elk-like horns. Once the transformation is over the person regains conciousness, and a newfound, unending craving for flesh. Only the lucky ones will keep their mental capabilities.

The mountain/tundra the Wendigo transforms in, the Wendigo claims as it's own hunting ground, if another Wendigo transforms/ were there before, the two Wendigos will fight to the death for the territory. The winner will gain the label as true owner of the territory, and will also get a fresh meal as well.

Wendigos, while preferring the cold will often venture into plains, forests, etc. On rare accounts, Wendigos can be seen as slaves/ pets to travelling warriors.
