Homebrew Arboriad Species Details
When he looked down at the travellers, Loran could see they were not passing through. Each carried a large axe, ideal for chopping down trees and people alike. Their long empty cart was designed for carrying tree trunks, and this area was well known for strong oak. Normally Loran could not take on so many, but he was angry and pleased when the teams split up into groups of two, and one duo started making their way towards his tree. He smiled and reached down to the earth and summoned the magic to cover his skin in tough, fibrous bark, and picked up his bow and arrow. The trees roots will drink the blood of trespassers tonight.
The Arbouriad are a fey race with strong ties to the earth and plantlife. Their skin is a motley green colour and is soft, like moss. Their hair is also green or brown and grows in long flowing locks or thicker tendrils, and they often braid flowers or allow small creatures to reside in their hair.
Arbouriad are slimmer than a human but quite a bit taller. They are sinewy and slight and generally have an air of contemplation about themselves. Generally softspoken and contemplative, they prefer carefully planning to brash action. They tend to react to the environment, rather than create it.
Elves and Arbouriad have a lot in common, and are quite often found close to one another in the wilderness. However Arbouriad are also keen to venture from the forests and communities have been known to spring up in deserts, marshlands and alpine regions. There is also rumours of an aquatic race of Arbouriad, but no one has ever seen them.
