Homebrew Daywalker Species Details
A Daywalker is a type of vampire or half-vampire who can walk in the daylight without harm. As a result, Daywalkers have all of their strengths but few to none of their weaknesses. Daywalkers still have the vampiric need for blood though it may simply be psychological without physical benefit. Daywalkers age like a normal human would. Vampires have a much lower body heat signature than humans, particularly apparent when viewed through a heat vision scanner, but a Daywalker gives off the normal heat signature of a human.
Daywalkers are exceedingly rare. Vampires are very jealous of Daywalker powers and would have tried to create more Daywalkers if it were easy to achieve. Given their extreme rarity, it is not clear how varied their abilities and appearances may be.
Daywalker Traits
Your shifter character has the following traits.Necrotic resistance
Ignore necrotic damage. If attacked with advantage roll to take half necrotic damage.
Know thy maker
The cursed blood within your veins tingles as you near your maker. The bloodline above you. Whether they turned you, your pregnant mother, or otherwise...you can sense that they are connected to you. The link may even go both ways as a preginator may recognize the spawn of their lineage.
Radiant Disadvantage
You don't take damage but you will roll with disadvantage when exposed to direct sunlight without reprieve. Causing discomfort and a headache Daywalkers can last up to an hour before radiant disadvantage takes effect.
Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Your Charisma is increased by 1.
Age
Daywalkers age at the same rate as a human. Occasionally reaching beyond natural age when vampiric abilities become prominent over the original species.
Alignment
Some daywalkers use their enhanced abilities in vain short filled lives. Others for evil. Others still to fight what others cannot. The power of a daywalker simply enhances what already was.
Size
Shifters range from 5 to almost 7 feet tall, depending on their subrace. Your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Keen Senses
You have proficiency with the Perception skill.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common.
