Blethrix Lifestyle

Blethrix favor the hustle and bustle inside major cities as it tends better towards their temperament and reasoning. They do not like a slow pace of living and must always be active and conscientious in their toils. Cities also add to their tendencies in professions they choose or pursue. A lot of Blethrix are voracious readers as they know that the key to accomplishment in their life is through knowledge. As soon as they finish reading a book, they are eager to share the book with their friends and find another book to consume. Through there readings they can also be exquisite story tellers and orators. They are well spoken based on the amount their knowledge and intellect they possess but do not push upon others their knowledge in any boastful manner. They prefer that their actions speak for their knowledge and intellect because they are commonly misunderstood.

Misunderstood

Blethrix to many races are seen as a nuisance because they are related to mice and rats which cause problems for keeping resources safe from being consumed and because of the speed at which they mature and multiply and consume limited resources. Regardless of their intellect they are typically seen as a blight upon any city in which they reside and animosity against them seems very prevalent, to which they are referred to as "bleeders."

Blethrix Family

Blethrix value family in all its form as it helps shape their way of life. They are typically born into litters of four to six, as they tend to be one of very many children in the family which adds to their chaotic and fast paced lives. Blethrix typically will defend others of their kind without hesitation or regard for themselves for the values that were instilled in them with family as your priority. They mature at a very fast pace and with a shorter lifespan they strive for knowledge and understanding the world around them - and how to manipulate it with magic, knowledge, and mysticism. Urban Home Blethrix tend to stay in larger cities and they prefer the undercities in most cases, but when small above ground districts can be habitable but they will seclude themselves into small boroughs from other races.

Thirst for Knowledge

Blethrix have a thirst for knowledge that rivals just about every other. Even though their ancestry relates them to the lowest of the low scavengers - their superior intellect sets them apart from most races. In normal day to day life Blethrix that don't go adventuring to pique their curiosity and interest will find their way into academic institutions to give themselves access to nearly limitless supply of knowledge through books and writings. They excel at being scribes, scholars, and alchemists but there are some that use their intellect and agility for more nefarious means and are just as likely to setup a thieves guilds as they are to study at an academy and understanding the world around them.

Blethrix are natural scavengers in all manner and as such are proficient in the Survival skill.

Your Dexterity score increases by 1, and your Intelligence score increases by 2

Keen Senses

Your vision in the dark is severely hindered,
but where your eyesight is hindered your hearing, smelling,
and tactile senses are extremely heightened. You gain
blindsight up to a 45' radius. This allows the Blethrix the
ability to navigate even the darkest of locations without issue.

Penchant for the Arcane:

Blethrix are in tune with the
arcane world around them and it binds their very essence as
a race. With this innate understanding of knowledge of the
arcane they are granted a cantrip. Use the table to determine
which cantrip that is chosen.

Deep Rooted Knowledge:

Blethrix are voracious in their gathering of knowledge and understanding and as such are proficient in the Arcane skill

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Undercommon and another language of your choice. Even though Blethrix tend to avoid being a part of most above ground society when they do, they need to have the additional languages to effectively communicate with those races. Being that they do dwell in underground societies in most cases they are adept at speaking Undercommon.
