Homebrew Dhampir Species Details
The hybrid children of vampires and mortals, dhampir tread a twilit line between life and death, tragedy and horror, and good and evil.
Supernatural Grace
Dhampir inherit the supernatural charm and beauty of their vampiric parent. Dhampir typically mature into slender, graceful, unnaturally beautiful humanoids. Many dhampir can masquerade as humans, but their features are invariably more pronounced, their movements more graceful, and the dark, sanguine thirst of their vampiric parent softly aching in their minds.
A Cursed Masquerade
Dhampir exist between the societies of their parents; there are no known dhampir communities or society. Dhampir instead adapt to the societies they grow up in, whether they’re abandoned in a mortal village, or left wandering the lairs of their often-disinterested undead parent. While dhampir can coexist with and pass as mortals on a good day, the natural suspicion they draw invariably causes dhampir to be outed to their societies. Because of their evil lineage, dhampir are usually feared and hated by mortal races, and they often live as outcasts and exiles in mortal society.
Dhampir Adventurers
Exiles from two societies, dhampir are more likely to become adventures and wanderers than continue a wretched existence in a society that hates them. Dhampir’s supernatural strength as grace leads many to excel as rogues, fighters, or inquisitors, while those that feel the pull of their vampiric heritage may pursue magics like necromancy or alchemy.
Dhampir Names
Most dhampir take given names from the culture of their mortal parent. Dhampir may take the surname of their mortal parent, or they might adopt one from their region of origin or one derived from a personally significant event.
