Homebrew Chosen Devil Species Details
these creatures are created through a special contract with a powerful devil that binds a creatures soul to a demonic host. this is made possible through a devilish parasite that infects the soul and supresses the natural energies of a creatures spirit, allowing the soul to inhabit an infernal body. the process is quite taxing on the soul itself, and the devilish parasytes almost immediately begin to corrupt and change the soul, until it is no different than the devils who created it. it also requires other souls to sacrifice in order to bolster the spirits energies enough in order to inhabit a full fledged Chosen vessel. the most common way this is done is by the greater devil first possessing a lesser devils body in order to acquire the necessary souls to fill the chosen form.
these forms begin as lifeless corpses, with no face, pale red skin and absolutely no defining features. these vessels are created through a very rare collaboration between Dispater, Archdevil of Dis, and Mephistopheles, Archdevil of Cania. while relatively easy to make, the secrets on the creation of these avatars is very closely guarded by both. very few are said to know this technique
these devils possesss all of the same general shared traits of the devils that inhabit the 9, they begin their lifespan as something quite fragile and unimpressive. though, depending on the soul that inhabits this creature, its features, abilities, and general composition can very greatly, and become quite powerful. as they rise through the ranks and gain more power, the transformations that follow are quite unique and tailored to the exploits and preferences of the individual. examples include retractable iron blades if said devil shows close range melee prowess, or fiendish reservoirs of magical energy within glowing runes on their skin, if they show an adeptness to the arcane. these transformations can be quite unpredictable and can rival even the strongest of fiendish forms.

A Devil's Charm
You gain proficiency with the following two skills: Deception and Persuasion.
Infernal Soul
You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hellish rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Infernal Resistance
You have resistance to fire damage and immunity to the River Styx.
Infernal Rejuvenation
If a devil dies somewhere other than the Nine Hells, the body disappears with a flash of fire, a puff of smoke or dissolves into a pool of ichor and re-forms in the Nine Hells, it is therefore not truly killed. However, a devil killed in the Nine Hells is dead forever; not surprisingly, that’s why devils tend to be more cautious in their dealings at home than abroad.
Change Appearance
As an action, you can transform your appearance or revert to your natural form. You can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature you’ve never seen, and you revert to your natural form if you die.
You decide what you look like, including your height, weight, facial features, the sound of your voice, coloration, hair length, sex, and any other distinguishing characteristics. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You also can’t appear as a creature of a different size than you (withing reason), and your basic shape stays the same; if you’re bipedal, you can’t use this trait to become quadrupedal, for instance. You also decide if your clothing and other equipment also change in appearance. You decide what your clothing and equipment look like. size, shape, material, colour, and any accessories are made up from your equipment.
Even to the most astute observers, your ruse is usually indiscernible. If you rouse suspicion, or if a wary creature suspects something is amiss, you have advantage on any Charisma (Deception) check you make to avoid detection.
