Homebrew Stonepeople Species Details

Physical Description

Anthropomorphous Stones, or "stonepeople", are intelligent embodiments of earth shaped in the form of tall humans with very broad shoulders. They are always very heavy and very intimidating; other humanoids usually keep their distance out of fear or plain respect for their apparent strength. On the material plane stonepeople move slowly and awkwardly with a lumbering gait, though they have been known for sudden bursts of muscle-driven speed.

History

It is a known fact that stonepeople are just yet another kind of earth elemental. They are known to be brutish, and have been feared and remembered for their incredible strength. They can truly dominate the battlefield.

Society

Stonepeople in the material plane are usually alone and rarely do they ever see another one of their kind, but in the elemental plane of Earth they live much like humans. They have societies capable of building castles and waging war... always, waging war.

Stonepeople Names

Stonemen are usually named after different types of stone.

Male: Agrelite, Apatite, Atlantisite, Aragonite, Axinite...

Female: Ametha, Quartz, Angelite, Ametrine, Amber...

Stonepeople Traits

Stonepeople have a huge, strong body capable of easily lifting boulders and other heavy objects.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength increases by 2 and your Constitution increases by 1.
Age. Stonepeople mature at 100 years and generally live up to 500 years.
Alignment. Stonepeople, used to being lonesome in material plane, usually have a chaotic alignment; alternatively Stonepeople from the elemental plane have a larger sense of war and strategy, making them very indifferent about death and giving them a neutral alignment.
Size. Your size is Medium. Stonemen average 7' in height. As a result of their huge and dense bodies, their weight varies from 200lbs to 600lbs, dependent largely on the type of stone they are made of.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Hard Workers. You have twice the normal carrying capacity.
Absorb Earth. If you are standing on stone or earth, you can use your action to increase your size to Large, doubling your height and multiplying your weight by 8. The effect lasts for 1 minute. For the duration, you have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws and resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from nonmagical attacks. You must finish a long rest before you can do this again.
Elemental. Your type is Elemental. In addition, you are immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition.
