Homebrew Undine Species Details

The undine are a mysterious group of water dwelling beings. Undine vary from many other forms in life in the way that they are without a soul; with the only way to obtain one being via marriage to a land dweller.

The life of an undine is often met with tragedy. They easily become infatuated and this lends trouble when the feelings are not reciprocated. Historically, many would take their lives if they failed to seduce those who they chose as a lover - although this has reduced over time as less and less are venturing onto land.

Undine are talented in many ways - noted especially for their sweet and captivating singing voices. Their voices are typically employed not for entertainment but rather for the purpose of strengthening bonds between the undine and that who they sing to. Thus, singing in public is seen as a taboo occurence.

Being from the aquatic envionrment, undine are naturally attuned to it and so battle or passage through it is desirable. Land poses a greater challenge to undine if they are unfamiliar with it, and with growing hostility in the world - they prefer to keep to themselves.
