Homebrew Chitine Species Details

Long ago, the drow first subjected elf prisoners to horrible rituals that transformed the captives into creatures with both humanoid and spider traits, which their creators dubbed chitines. The dark elves’ intention was to create slaves dedicated first of all to the drow and, by association with them, to Lolth. As the drow ultimately discovered, the goddess found this arrangement unacceptable.

The creation process required cooperation between magical disciplines. Drow wizards and warlocks used arcane magic and demonic powers, and drow priestesses invoked Lolth’s aid for the divine spark needed to ensure the subject’s survival. Lolth watched, expecting at some part of the process to see these new abominations dedicated to her, but no such ritual was performed. In retribution for this lack of respect, the Spider Queen twisted the drow’s creation rituals to serve her own purposes.

While they have a hive mind, sometimes one breaks away as a result of genetics, or enlightenment. they are unfamiliar with other races as a result and are confused by many practices however are willing to learn. 

they often talk in the third person as its a habit that is hard to break.

Chitine Traits

Chitines are spider-like in nature both physically and mentally giving them many traits

as a result of their twisted heritage choldriths can easily handle and interact with spiders, cave fishers, steeders, and other creatures at the DM's discression

but because they are monstrosities most other races are loathe to trust them.

as a result of their nature they are considerably nimbler and more aware of their surroundings.

the webbing produced by chitines has many uses, it can be used as a building material, fine silk, a rope, a weapon, 

this ability can be used as much as warrented plausible by dm.

chitines can speak undercommon and chitel, and occassionaly common.

chitine is a language that allows them to speak with spiders and other arachnoid creatures and understand them in turn

chitines live about as long as elves, though some have been known to live even longer if unhindered by disease.

Arachnidsight

Chitines have binocular vision with excellent acuity and full color perception. The secondary eyes on the side of their heads give them more or less 360º vision.
