Homebrew Batfolk(vampire) Species Details
On the edge of his house, Gritho Graywing owned a noticably chubby pig. Batfolk liked to overfeed their livestock so they produced more blood. Every morning, Gritho took a large glass flask and a strange device with a sharp point and a sac to his pig. Then he would poke it, and waited for the blood to draw into his flask.
Shunned by society for their questionable diet and their strange sleeping schedule, batfolk are often shy and don't talk to people very much. Batfolk seem to have normal features, except for their bat-like snout, sharp fangs, and a pair of bat wings.
Batfolk(vampire) Traits
+2 Dexterity +1 ConstitutionFlight
Though you have wings, they aren't big enough to get you very far. They are mostly used to flap up to high ledges.
Bloodsuck
You puncture your sharp fangs into the shoulder of your foe, drawing blood as their arm starts to turn gray. They then start to stagger in their attempt to make a swing at you, but feel it to be too hard to lift their arm.
As an action, you can puncture your fangs into a creatures shoulder as a melee attack, dealing 1d4 piercing damage, although you can do it softly if the creature is willing and not deal damage. The creature now has disadvantage on attack rolls, dexterity saving throws, and strength saving throws for the next 2 rounds. If the creature is being effected by a potion, such as poison or sleepiness, make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save, you now have that effect. On a successful save, you don't have the effect. You can use this ability once per long rest.
this ability can be useful for weakening an opponent, stopping someone from struggling, and numbing a part of the body.
Walking speed
your base walking speed is 30 ft.
Flying Speed
While wearing light or medium armor, you have a base flying speed of 25 ft. Otherwise, it is 15 ft.
Unpleasant features
People who see you often stare, and then quickly look away. Your bat snout and fangs don't exactly seem to pretty.
Whenever you cast a spell to charm someone or something, don't add your proficiency bonus, unless the target is another batfolk.
Strange sleep schedule
Batfolk are partially nocturnal, but have adapted to being awake during the day so they can be closer to society.
Whenever yo take a short rest, you choose to sleep during it. However, whenever you take a long rest, you only need 4 hours of sleep.
