Homebrew Celestial Lotus Species Details
The Celestial Lotus is an exquisite but seldom seen herb formed from the evolution of the essential spiritual energy formed by heaven and earth as well as sunlight and moonlight.
It grows in a hard to access grotto in Bailu Forest, on the edge of Huan Hua's territory.
This grotto has a large opening at the top that allows both sunlight and moonlight to pass directly through. The light falls onto the centre of a grass green lake, Lushui Lake, which contains water made from morning dew full of spiritual energy. At the point where the light hits is a small piece of land upon which the herb grows.
The herb can be extracted with roots intact and planted in a place where spiritual power, magical water, and the ashes of a person combines and left to mature. This takes a year, and forms a body similar in appearance and ability to the person's ashes, enhanced and nearly perfected in appearance, though the Celestial Lotus being is not the same being.
Celestial Lotus Traits
Though Celestial Lotus beings may look like members of a particular race, they have a few traits that set them apart from their 'Parent'.Ability Score Increase
Celestial Lotus beings are very similar in appearance to the being whose ashes were used in their creation, though they are somehow slightly more 'perfect' in appearance.
+2 Charisma
Age
Celestial Lotus beings are born from the ashes of a previously living person combined with the Celestial Lotus root, and thus are born sometimes fully grown, depending on the state of the 'parent' when they died and turned to ash. A Celestial Lotus will then remain at their current physical age their entire life, unless aged magically. Celestial Lotus beings live about 500 years before dying, leaving behind a Celestial Lotus seed.
Alignment
Celestial Lotus beings are naturally more inclined to neutral or lawful alignments, though they can be any alignment depending on circumstances, such as culture.
Size
Celestial Lotus beings can be any height due to their appearance being similar to their 'Parent's', though they tend toward the taller side of their apparent race.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Damage Resistance
Due to the Celestial Lotus' connection to the sun and moon, Celestial Lotus beings have a resistance to Radiant damage.
Qing shi zhe
So long as sun- or moonlight is available, Celestial Lotus beings are able to survive off of that and water. Rest is still necessary. If sun- or moonlight is unavailable, eating food will subsist you until you can reach natural light, though after 2 days, you will gain a point of exhaustion. Points of exhaustion will accumulate over two weeks, ending after spending time in sun- or moonlight during enough long rests to remove existing points of exhaustion.
If unable to reach sun- or moonlight after two weeks, your body will fail, resulting in death, rapidly turning to dust.
