Homebrew Dhampir Species Details

Half living children of mortals and vampires, dhampirs are born into the world filled with tragedy and rejection. Born out of mischief and with an air of horror; the existance of dahmpir and circumstances that exist to copulate such an offspring is unlikely. Since few mortals survive copulation with a fiend such as the vampire; yet expirience to birth such a creature. it is often theorized that most dhampir are born from male mortals and female vampires.

It is more common that dhampir are abandoned immediately after birth, with the parents hoping that they would die from the elements. However, for few that survive; these children find solace with the forebears of being part of the undead. Even as living creatures, the reality of living with the same blood that urges them to terrorize the night frightens them; struggling to find balance within themselves.

Charming Characteristics, Breaching of the world of undeath

As a dhampir walks through life; tiptoeing the line between mortality and undeath, these creatures must understand that they are unlike any other. With this, many consider them to be extremely beautiful. With remarks made by individuals to be "the exquisitely perfect beings of each race"; many would say that dhampir look more similar to their mortal parents than their vampiric heritage.

With features described to be as beautiful as static marbled statues; this supernatural beauty is both a boon and a curse for all dhampir who wishes to live a life with mortals.

Hearts of Darkness

Even though dhampirs do not need to drink blood nor need to fear the sunlight; they can still thrive in the tendencies of a vampire. After dhampirs harvest blood, they look less pale and more alive. With this; they may experience a burst of energy.

Some dhampirs grow addicted to this; growing more and more insane as time goes on. With hearts of darkness; their personalities can be described as despicable. Many place maltrust onto them; thus reinforcing the stereotypes of being undead

Biology and Societal Pressence

With a faintness of undeath, many consider the Dahmpir to be on par in terms of lifespan with elves. This is considered to be a boon for them; as many races wish to live as long as them. With an aging speed as slow as time, and with looks similar to of the marbled statues describing perfection; there seems to be many benefits of being a dhampir. However, there are drawbacks and pitfalls of being related to the creatures of the night. Many consider dhampirs to be dangerous, and tell early signs of it; such as slight sensitivity to daylight or an increase of supernatural powers. With this, those associated with the dhampir race would be ousted by society and would be treated the same, maybe worse.

With this, it only proves to be a reactionary point to succumb to the innate evils of a dhampir's undead heritage and devolve to the monstrous fiends depicted by the hoons of society. It is rare to see a dhampir meld themselves into civilization, but proves to be possible. Such a rare case would be a dhampir hunting vampires down as a way to fight against the ones that created such an abomination. With this, it is made clear that many dhampir keep but a few, if any, as close companions.

As of now, those who are associated as dhampir may remark similar features with all of them. They may be reserved or sullen. Some may fear persecution or blood-lust . However, as with their mortal races, dhampir carry one simple concept that most vampires do not have; individuality.

Dhampir Names

Due to the fact that dhampirs do not have their own culture to thrive on, they usually borrow names from their mortal parent's language and cultiure.

In a rare instance, sometimes a dhampir may create a nickname that they wish to call themselves by. This, considered by most people, is seen as 'edgy' or cruel; depending on the person.
