Homebrew Bularre Species Details
Physically powerful and uncommonly industrious, the Bularre are a species created by the power of magic from the Archmagi of Antargen Ares before the Human Plague and Diabolic Invasion wiped out the population of that once-great city. A hybrid of Bulette and Human, they have skin ranging from grey, bluish hues, brown, white and black. Some may be mottled or striped, and even the females have powerful builds. Although their faces are offputting to most other humanoids, they are usually not intentionally scary, but rather would prefer to work hard and be left to their labors.
Bularre are somewhat few in number, but their population rate is stably increasing in the safety of the underground city that they've been building in accordance with the plans of their creators. The city plan set fourth by the Archmagi is an utterly massive undertaking, and is the only unified purpose the Bularre have. They were designed to take joy in hard work, and while they do periodically journey abroad to join work teams or take up mercenary employment, they often return to the blasted ruins of Antargen Ares to bring back money, supplies, or other goods to their community. Bularre do venture to the surface world often enough to be seen in some cities in eastern Avalestra like Arakkis and Port Van Des.
These mighty peoples have multitudes of jobs in their society, and take pride and bestow honor on each other for every task they perform, which esteems the janitor, the gemcutter, the lumberjack, and the cook equally. As long as a task can produce something usable to their society, it deserves honor and esteem. Those elders who have worked full lives at one or a few related functions are venerated above others, and they are given roles akin to leadership and teaching roles. The Bularre don't have a government per se, just a conglomeration of elders which assume control situationally, as needed. Otherwise, they don't need telling to go work and function, as most Bularre detest laziness utterly.
The Bularre even work and hunt alongside their beastly relatives, Bulettes. They are not commonly used as workhorses or field oxen, as indeed, the Bularre utilize those. They are, however, used as the most powerful hunting and defense beasts known, and as tunnel diggers. Where some other races might employ beasts such as mastiffs, the Bularre are able to keep the incredible monstrosities in something almost like a domesticated state. An entire hunting party might bring one along, or a work team might use one as a tunneler.
The average Bularre is between 6'4" and 7'6" tall, with a wide, burly figure. They weigh between 200 and 420 lbs, and hardly any are very fat, but their bellies tend toward rotundness if they are, as it is one of the few places on their frame that carries the fat. Their eyes are dark, wide set, and beady yet larger than a normal humanoid eye. Each eye has a lid that is more like a milky film that slides over the organ as they blink. Their noses are more akin to nasal holes, which appear at the apex of their face, which protrudes slightly forward in an almost conically shaped snout. The mouth is very broad, and equipped with many more teeth than other humanoids' mouths.

However, any act of gratuitous greed, malice, or indignity isn't conducive to the hard work being done by the community, and causing another Bularre to lose out on work they've chosen to do is probably their culture's cardinal sin. Given that work needs structure, instruction, skills, and detail, Bularre favor law over chaos, but they also value the freedom to work on any job they'd ever choose. If any force would try to govern how a Bularre would be employed, they will likely find themselves opposing that force.
