Homebrew Dragonborn Half Elf Species Details

To members of either of their parental clans, their unique and different anatomies are obvious within first glance.

Half-elves have no lands of their own, though they are welcome in Elven cities and somewhat less welcome in dragonborn clans. In large cities in regions where elves and dragonborn interact often, dragonborn half-elves are sometimes numerous enough to form small clans and tribes of their own. They enjoy the company of other dragonborn half-elves, the only people who truly understand what it is to live between these two worlds.

In most parts of the world, though, dragonborn half-elves are uncommon enough that one might live for years without meeting another if untraveled. Some dragonborn half-elves prefer to avoid company altogether, living as hermits, or wandering the wilds as trappers, foresters, hunters, or adventurers and visiting civilization only rarely. Like elves, they are driven by the wanderlust that comes of their longevity. Others, in contrast, throw themselves into the thick of society, putting their charisma and ancestral skills to great use as fighters and assassins.

Dragonborn Half Elf Traits

Your half-elf character has some qualities in common with elves or dragonborn and some that are unique to dragonborn half-elves.

Due to the Elven chaotic nature, and the morality of dragonborn, they tend to be Chaotic Evil or Chaotic Good.

Size

Due to the variety in the gene pool for this race, dragonborn half elves tend to be either lanky and around the height of a dragonborn, or a little bit more built and the heigh of elves and humans.

Superior Darkvision

Accustomed to twilight forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Languages

You speak Common, Draconic, and Elvish.

Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.

Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.

Sunlight Sensitivity

You have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
