Homebrew Snow Elf Species Details
Snow elves are an ancient and rare race from far north. Though they share traditional elvish traits such as darkvision and pointed ears, the harsh condition lead them to develop a slightly different appearance and skill set. They are shorter and sturdier than the average elf, and are immune to cold damage. They live in clans in the high mountains, and maintain self-sufficiency through practical and fair trade. This causes them to be naturally trustworthy and charismatic, choosing to make friends rather than enemies. Because of this, jovial festivals are common... sometimes lasting for days on end. Snow Elves also live longer then other elf races, up to 900 years rather than 750. They make for perfect bards, merchants, and wizards... that is, when a Snow Elf decides to leave its hidden village up in the cold mountains.
Snow Elf Traits

Due to lifelong exposure to the ice and now of the mountains, you are immune to the effects of the cold and can't take cold damage.
Ability Score Increase
Your Charisma score increases by 3 and your constitution score increases by 1.
Darkvision
Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Keen Senses
You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Trance
Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.
