Homebrew Capacuchin Species Details

Physical Description

Capacuchin are tiny humanoids that look like and exhibit the trait of small monkeys. They are slender and quick. They have very dexterous front paws that are equipped with opposable thumbs. The only way to distinguish Capacuchin from monkey's that are of similar size is the blue patch of fur on their belly.

History

Capacuchin's were made by wizards before the breaking of the world. They were made from actual tiny monkey's because they were smart and could get into small spaces. They were supposed to be assistants for the wizards but once they were created it was discovered the Capacuchin were very mischievous. They would play pranks on the wizard that created them and usually destroy the experiment the wizard was working on. They became very sarcastic once they realized they could talk also. The wizards that had Capacuchin teleported them to the depths of a massive jungle. Once there it was discovered they could mate with each other. They eventually made it to the edge of the forest where they could trade with others easier.

Society

Capacuchin live in small family groups. They are so good at sneaking that groups can sneak into villages and homes without being seen to get food or supplies if they are needed. They are not fond of large groups, so young adult pairs routinely leave to form their own groups. A group will have a patriarch or matriarch who has often advanced as a rogue. They fight only when their nests or such is threatened, and have little desire other than to feed themselves, breed, and live life. They adapt to new climate and food with ease.

Capacuchin Traits

Alignment. Capacuchin are good-natured, but mischievous and tend towards chaotic good or neutral good.

AC bonus. You get a +1 to AC because you are so small
Slinky. You are proficient with the Stealth skill.
Dexterous Climber. You have a climbing speed of 25 feet and use Dexterity for any check involving climbing.
Monkey Grip. You can wield weapons as though you were a Small creature.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and Sylvan.
